Lately I have started playing this MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) called Tribal Wars. It is set in the Middle Ages, but entails a great deal of strategy, diplomacy, and decision-making as to the balance of resources and building over troop levels.

This got me thinking about how interesting this could be for Government students. Each class could form a tribe, delegate roles, negotiate treaties, and otherwise decide the course that their tribe will take. This would be a long-term project involving journal/forum entries, papers, etc. and would take place alongside classroom instruction.

What do you all think? Would something like this get your students interested in social studies? Could something like this be applied to other subject areas?
